St T's Angels

Whether it's illness, bereavement, or the happy crisis of a new arrival, we all go through times when the offer of practical help can be, literally, a godsend.

Much woderful help and support of this kind is offered all the time at St Thomas's whether by caring individuals, or by house groups as the members care for one another.

We're aware, however, that it's easy for people to slip through the net and miss out on the support that could be offered if only their needs were known by those with the resorces to meet them. Hence the formation of the Angels in Action team!

We have a database of those who have skills and abilities of a practical nature and would be happy to be called upon occasionally to help meet a particular situation of need. One of a small team of coordinators would meet with the person or family in need of support (in liaison with the person's housegroup if they have one) and put together a plan of the help neded, then they would ring round appropriate volunteers. Simple as that.

Getting help

If you need help please seek it first with your housegroup, or otherwise contact the church office.

Helping others

If you wish to volunteer to help with a particular skill or offer of time, for someone in particular need for one off or just a few times. Contact the church office so that Karen Shackleton can consider your offer and keep you on the database in case your offer is needed.
