Sundays at St Thomas’

Three services - for you!

Children, Youth & Students

  • We love having children in Church! There are children’s groups at both morning services.

At the 9am, we have groups for ages 1 to Year 5 (Year 6 are in youth). Bring your child to the Centre before the service to be signed in. They’ll then join you in the final section of the service.

At the 11am, there are groups for ages 1-Year 6. Children start in the service before joining their groups in the Centre. If you are unsure where to go, just ask someone with a blue lanyard.

You can find out more about Sundays and midweeks here.

    Our team are all DBS-checked.

  • Young people are welcome at all 3 services! At the 9 & 11 services we run groups for 11-18 year olds.

At the 9am is ‘Venture’ for Years 6+; we meet at 9am in the youth lounge on the Centre’s top floor.

At the 11am is ‘Sunday STYLE’, for Years 7-13. Youth start in the 11am service and exit to the Centre together.

The 7pm has a monthly ‘STYLE @ the 7’ in the youth lounge after the service to chill and reflect. Otherwise, they are encouraged to enjoy the service independently.

  • Students: you are welcome to all services! Many students - but not all - attend the 7pm.

Before the 7 there is ‘student tea’ from 5ish; this is a free cooked meal with good conversation, while after the service it’s common to go to the pub for a drink. Contact us on social media (links at top), email the office here, or talk to your CU for more.

Lancaster students: there are often lifts available from Lancaster Uni for the 7pm, but the 1, 1A, 4 & 100 buses will all also bring you direct to St Tees from campus.

    See you soon!

FAQs

  • All our services are on every week in St Thomas’ Church (Marton St.)

    Our service times are:

    • 9-10am

    • 11am-12:30pm

    • 7-8:30pm

And there are refreshments afterwards in the Centre!

  • Our services all involve some singing together (lyrics are displayed) - a short talk about part of the Bible, and an opportunity to reflect or pray.

  • At St Tees, we get a mix at every service! Most senior folk attend the 9am, while most families go to the 11am, and most students & young adults the 7pm. But we suggest trying each and making your own decision.

  • There’s no dress code for any of our services. Please just wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

  • Nothing! We don’t expect or assume any Bible or church knowledge. You are welcome as you are.

  • No. Everything involving our ‘congregation’ (that’s you!) is voluntary. This includes standing to sing songs, passing the collection around, communion, and praying. We understand everyone’s experience of Church is different.

  • For more about our services, you can contact us on Facebook or Instagram, or email the clergy responsible for each service:
